Ahoy, matey! Avast ye!
Looking for something awesome to do this school holidays, well why not visit the Pirates plundering the WA Maritime Museum.
We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel into Fremantle on Friday and check out the new exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum, Horrible Histories – Pirates : The Exhibition!
Shiver me timbers!!! What a amazing exhibition it was!
My band of gruesome pirates (Fynn & Bray) were so excited before we even left the house, but the welcome by Pirates aboard the STS Leeuwin II sent their excitement to next level. They plundered the ships booty, tried the Helm, and left as experienced Seadog’s!
We then head over to the WA Martime Museum, with the rest of the crew for the opening of the Exhibition!
With so many activities for them to try it was hard to choose where to start! First we designed our own pirate flag, followed by a pirate treasure hunting!
The boys then jumped on two opposing war ships and used the canons to fire soft balls at each other’s ship, in hope of sinking the others.
Fynn learnt about his favourite Pirate Blackbeard, and other gruesome pirates of the past.
After checking out the weapons of choice by pirates and all the other amazing displays and games. We then enjoyed a story, read by yet another of the amazing pirates!
Horrible Histories – Pirates: The Exhibiton is open daily at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle, 9:30am – 5pm. You can purchase tickets Online or at the door.
The museum will be closed on Good Friday and only open for the afternoon of ANZAC Day (25 April) 1pm – 5pm.
Don’t be a Scallywag and visit this school holidays otherwise you might be made to walk the plank!
